“It started about 7/8 years ago, over the Christmas period. I care for my Mum who suffers from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. My day is pretty standard, wake up have breakfast, remind my mum to have her tablets, pick Mum up whenever she falls – it’s not every day but its most days. We used to have someone who would come in and take care of Mum, but she’s recently quit on us so Mum is basically by herself when I go to school. It’s going to be especially tough this September, I’m going to be an hour away for collage.

I’m close with my mum, I went through a phase in my life where I absolutely hated her. I blamed her for not being able to live a normal life like everyone else gets to live. But now I really want to raise awareness about accessibility for people living in wheelchairs, like when we went on holiday in Lincolnshire they had nowhere that had access for my mum. So, making places accessible is really important to me.”
